The film stars the likes of Frank Welker, the original voice of Scooby-Doo since 1969 as he reprises his role for this upcoming origin story. Will Forte voices Shaggy, Zac Efron plays Fred, Amanda Seyfried plays Daphne, and Gina Rodriguez voices Velma.

The film acts as an origin story Scooby-Doo and shaggy revealing when they first met and Scooby was a stray puppy. The film will not only touch on the friendship of the iconic duo but also the Mystery Machine’s origins and how they became the monster-solving group of young detectives we have all grown to know.

Of course, the main attraction to the film is the story direction it is going in. The trailer not only opens up with a sentimental moment of Shaggy and Scooby meeting for the first time, but by the look of it, there will be ghosts, aliens, fantastic cameos and much more coming our way.

Scooby-Doo describes the film’s trailer as “in a world destroyed by evil. Discover the epic origin story of the greatest team of heroes in the history of mystery”

The film is being produced by Reel FX and Warner Animation Group. Directed by Tony Cervone, known for his work on classic Scooby-Doo films as well as Tom and Jerry spinoffs too.
