The first major update for Sons of The Forest went live this past weekend. The update comes after the game entered early access in early March and went on to sell over two million copies within 24 hours. We know that Sons of The Forest is still in early access so expect a few of these new patches in the weeks and months ahead.
Not only does this update fix loads of bugs which are common in early-access games, but the patch adds a few in-game items which players will find useful. For example, you’ll now be able to use binoculars, hang gliders and use new items to craft new things. There’s also a new mini-boss fight which has been added to the game.

The new building item includes a new Defensive Wall Gate which players can craft and place down. Players can also now lock doors by placing a stick on the inside of the door. There’s also a new One Sided Apex structure which fills the space between a leaning beam and a supporting beam.
The patch for Sons of The Forest also balances a few in-game features such as adding a cooldown to the sleep feature. It has also increased the amount of fullness berries provided when eating them. Shotguns have been nerfed in half and some enemies have been buffed with more health.
