As for the future of the God of War franchise, it’s anyone’s guess where it will be going next. Fans believe that a certain item in God of War Ragnarok might’ve teased the possibility of Kratos heading to Ancient Egypt next to face its pantheon of gods.
Reports began to gain traction last month about Ragnarok potentially receiving some sort of DLC or “half-sequel” similar to Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. While the story is unknown, some believe that we might play as Atreus and bridge the gap between the Norse saga of games and whatever mythology, be it Egyptian or not, comes next. The latest rumour claims that this DLC will be announced at The Game Awards this December, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
In related news, Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski previously stated that he’d love a God of War-style reboot for the Gears franchise.
