Epic Games have confirmed that Fortnite Chapter 2 will wrap up next month following “The End” event, presumably leading into Chapter 3 with the expectations of a new map, items and skins. Players will face off against the Cube Queen in the finale for Chapter 2, though Epic have been mostly quiet about what comes next.
Fortnite Chapter 2 first appeared in late 2019 and since then, Epic Games have maintained a steady stream of updates including new skins, emotes, stickers, weapons, limited time events (usually pop culture tie-ins) and much more. However, after two years of being live, it looks like the second chapter will conclude, leading into Chapter 3.

Epic released a full breakdown of what players can expect from The End event, which takes place next month for a limited time:
“The End marks the finale of Fortnite Chapter 2. This climatic event will see players take on The Cube Queen in one last stand for the fate of the Island. Squad up with your friends and players around the world to take on the Sideways corruption. The End supports large parties of up to 16 players queued together, so bring the whole squad along. Be sure to log in early — The End playlist will be available in Fortnite 30 minutes prior to the start time for players to jump in.
The End is a one-time only, in-game event. Content creators and players looking to relive the final moments of Fortnite Chapter 2 should take steps to record and archive their experience as replays will not be available. Players will be unable to edit their settings once The End begins, so please adjust any visual options to your preferred viewing experience before joining. Because the Season will end a day early, all players who log in before the end of the Season will receive a 225,000 XP reward. To immortalize The End, players who fight back The Cube Queen will unlock a special Loading Screen and Wrap!”
Of course, fans are speculating that this means we’ll be getting a brand new map. In 2019, Fortnite shut down its servers for a few days with a clever marketing tactic that birthed the current map. It’s possible that Epic will pull off a similar marketing stunt leading into Chapter 3.
Fortnite‘s The End event will kick off on 4 December 2021 at 1PM PT / 11PM SAST.
