Fortnite Chapter 2 Performance Issues and How to Fix The FPS Drops

Fortnite Chapter 2 launched yesterday with a brand new map, Battle Pass, challenge medals, fishing, speedboats and so much more it is difficult to take everything in. What is abundantly clear, however, is that Epic Games has done an excellent job with both the pre-season event that sucked everything into a black hole and the new map to fight on. However, some PC gamers are running into Fortnite Chapter 2 performance issues.

Epic Games has acknowledged the Fortnite Chapter 2 performance issues on the official Fortnite Status Twitter account. Players are reporting severe FPS drops and that even with massive gaming rigs hitting 240 FPS, the game doesn’t feel smooth. First up, Epic Games told players to restart the game client, stating that: “As we continue to investigate, we have seen reported success by restarting the game client.”

This, however, didn’t work for everyone as Fortnite Chapter 2 performance issues in the form of FPS drops continued for many. At the time of writing, no patch has been deployed, but the developer has revealed a fix that should work if you are struggling to play the game due to the performance issues.

At the time of writing, Epic Games have not revealed an ETA for a patch to fix these Fortnite performance issues permanently.
