Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Map Epic Games 44.7 Million Players

Fortnite OG Map Might Be Permanently Added in December

Back in November 2023, Epic Games released a limited time event in Fortnite where players could experience (or re-experience) the OG map from the initial launch of the battle royale. The popularity of this mode skyrocketed Fortnite‘s player count to 44.7 million players, making it one of the biggest events in the game’s history. A new rumour suggests that Epic Games will permanently add the OG map to the game in December.

The report comes from known Fortnite leakers HYPEX and ShiinaBR who both claim that Fortnite will receive the OG map as a permanent addition to the game in December. Furthermore, all 10 seasons of Chapter 1 will also make a return on a monthly basis, giving players the opportunity to earn and unlock rewards that were previously limited to those early seasons. Apparently, Epic Games will also continue to add new content during the seasonal rotation of Chapter 1 until September 2025.

As with all rumours and reports, take this with a pinch of salt until we get a confirmation from Epic Games. However, it makes sense that the company would want to add the OG map as a permanent addition to the game given its massive success last year.

In related news, earlier this week we reported on new rumours of several new game modes coming to Fortnite. Interestingly, one of the modes includes a codename called ‘Figment’ which was called an “OG related game mode” by the leaker, adding some credibility to the latest rumour. Additionally, it seems like there will be tons of new content added to LEGO Fortnite and a new open-world game mode. Have a look at the codenames below:

  • Codename ‘Figment’: OG Related Gamemode, available in Build and Zero Build, all squad sizes available.
