Forza Horizon 5 has officially announced its Hot Wheels expansion which will be coming in July, making it the first official expansion pack to come to the racing title. The expansion will allow players to design, build and share their very own Hot Wheels tracks, as well as drive 10 new vehicles.
The expansion, which arrives on the 19th of July, will offer players the chance to whip around the fantastical tracks in cars such as the 2021 Hennessey Venom F5 and the 2000 Wheels Deora II. Sadly, the expansion was leaked before the showcase but that still didn’t put a damper on the excitement of the official release.

Forza Horizon 3 and Hot Wheels shared an expansion that gave players 10 DLC cars, which included life-size Hot Wheels vehicles that had been scaled up to life-sized vehicles. The expansion took players to a whole separate island which was made entirely out of life-sized stunt track set pieces.
Forza Horizon 5 will also feature an Expansion Bundle on the Xbox Store (both console and PC) which gives access “two game expansions when they become available. Each expansion will introduce a new location, vehicles and gameplay”. This was similar to Forza Horizon 4’s Expansion Bundle system, which gave players access to the Fortune Island and Lego Speed Champions expansions.
We aren’t clear on what the next expansion after Hot Wheels will be but we are hoping that it will be along the same lines as the Fortune Island expansion. In the expansion, players were tasked with travelling to a mountainous island with tough terrain. The expansion also brought with it 10 extra cars with which to race around the map, including the largest mountain road in the history of the Horizon series.
