Forza Horizon 5 Intro Gameplay and Cover Cars Revealed

Microsoft has released another trailer for its upcoming open-world racer Forza Horizon 5. The trailer is eight minutes long and starts off driving through a volcano area after falling from a plane. The Forza Horizon series is known for its stunning open-world design and gorgeous visuals and the latest instalment is no different.

The trailer kicks off with the 2021 Ford Bronco Badlands as it airdrops from the plane onto the peaks of the La Gran Caldera volcano. It then switches to the 2020 Corvette Stingray as it also drops from a plane down onto a Mexican farmland. The player then approaches a sandstorm that is seen tumbling around in the distance. The sheer scale of this storm can be felt in the trailer thanks to the brilliant in-game engine.

According to Microsoft, these weather events are all dynamic and will take place throughout your time with the game. They will happen dynamically as you drive through Mexico and explore the world but are also predetermined in specific races.

The trailer then continues to a Porche 911 Deser Flyer that also drops from the plane and lands in the jungle. Lastly, we take a look at the main cover car for Forza Horizon 5, the Mercedes-AMG One. The car races through the roads of Baja Californa towards the Horizon Festival.

If you have not guessed it by now, the trailer is the introduction to the game. Each Forza Horizon entry has featured a series of intro races where the player is taken through the world in style. Forza Horizon 5 will see players dropped from the plane as they explore a handful of biomes and make their way to the Horizon Festival. It is a tradition.

Unfortunately, the latest gameplay trailer isn’t in 4K which is a strange decision for Microsoft. It would have been fantastic to see the introduction in all its Xbox Series X glory. Especially given that the E3 trailer was in 4K. Thankfully, the cover cars reveal trailer is in 4K. Check out both trailers down below.
