You have until Friday to head over to the UPLAY Store and download Assassin’s Creed II. Ubisoft announced in early April that the developer and publisher would be handing out free games and trials to everyone over the course of the next few weeks to help gamers who are stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. They first gave away Rayman legends and now Assassin’s Creed II is up for grabs.

Keep in mind that this is not a trial or demo. Once you add the game to your account, you own it forever. Assassin’s Creed II is personally my favourite entry in the series as the game follows fan-favourite protagonist Ezio Auditore da Firenze across Florence, Venice, Tuscany and Forli while uncovering the truth behind the Templars.
The game is 11 years old now but still makes for a decent playthrough. The world is not as big as recent Assassin’s Creed games like Odyssey and Origins but sometimes less is more as you don’t get overwhelmed by nonsense.
You have until 17 April at 15:00 SAT to head over the Ubisoft UPLAY store and add the game to your account. Speaking of free games, Sony is also giving away two games this week beginning on Thursday. The company announced the Play at Home initiative with two games. Find out more here.

The acclaimed follow-up to Assassin’s Creed features a new hero, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a young Italian noble, and a new era, the Renaissance. Assassin’s Creed II is an epic story of family, vengeance and conspiracy set in the pristine, yet brutal, backdrop of a Renaissance Italy. Ezio befriends Leonardo da Vinci, takes on Florence’s most powerful families and ventures throughout the canals of Venice where he learns to become a master assassin.
