Right now, the free game on the Epic Games Store, GNOG, is pretty good, but not everyone is into puzzle games. This freebie was definitely a step back from the previous week where PC gamers could pick up For Honor and Alan Wake. Now, the next free games from the Epic Games Store are simply put, excellent, as Epic is stepping up their freebie game quite a lot.
One of my favourite tactical, turn-based titles to release in the last several years, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, will be one of the free games from the Epic Games Store that PC gamers can pick up. In my review, I called it “a blend of genres mutating into one amazing and very challenging title” as I praised the game’s great challenge, lore and interesting characters.
Joining Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden in the upcoming free games from the Epic Games Store is Hyper Light Drifter, a 2D action-RPG that has seen rave reviews from critics, sitting at an 84/100 Metacritic score right now.
From 15 to 22 August 2019, PC gamers can pick up these two fantastic free games from the Epic Games Store by following this link, so mark those calendars. Mankind has been eradicated by climate change, nuclear war, and pandemics. Will your team of mutants survive the Zone? Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is a tactical adventure game combining turn-based combat with real-time exploration, story, stealth, and strategy.
Hyper Light Drifter
Echoes of a dark and violent past resonate throughout a savage land, steeped in treasure and blood. Hyper Light Drifter is an action adventure RPG in the vein of the best 16bit classics, with modernized mechanics and designs on a much grander scale.
