While rumours suggest that From Software was going to release the Elden Ring DLC – Shadow of the Erdtree this month, we are almost halfway through February without a release date in sight.
Leaked marketing materials for a limited edition Elden Ring Xbox Controller suggested a late-February release date but From Software has shot down these hopes by officially commenting on the matter.
In the studios’ latest financial report, the FAQ section touched on the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC saying the content does not have a release date “at this time”. The studio simply stated that it was “currently working hard on the development of the DLC for Elden Ring”.
Previous rumours claimed that From Software was working on two DLC packs for Elden Ring. The first was the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC which we know about. The second is reportedly a larger expansion which is set to launch sometime next year.
From Software has only revealed Shadow of the Erdtree. Even that announcement came with a simple social media post showcasing a single piece of artwork and the logo.
Rumours also claim that From Software is working on an Elden Ring mobile game in partnership with Tencent. Reports say From Software wants to turn Elden Ring into a mobile port with free-to-play elements and in-game purchases.
We can only hope that the Elden Ring DLC does indeed make it out by the end of February. Multiple leaks have suggested it would.
