The first screenshots for the next Armored Core game developed by From Software have seemingly leaked online as part of a recent consumer survey. According to leaks, Dark Souls and Bloodborne director Hidetaka Miyazaki is also directly involved in the project.
The leaked images were a part of a recent consumer survey by From Software, who revealed that they were quietly working on a new Armored Core game, a mech series with a long history in gaming. While the screenshots aren’t really high-quality, they give us an idea of the next game’s quality and visuals, which line up with From Software’s more polished, darker look and tone.

The images were first posted by ResetEra user Red Liquorice, who claimed that they had received a survey from From Software which revealed the first details of their upcoming Armored Core title. Among the buzz words thrown around, they included a “sci-fi world created by Hidetaka Miyazaki”, “three-dimensional, dynamic action” and a “high degree of freedom in customisation.”
Have a look at the leaked images below:
Armored Core‘s last entry released all the way back in 2012 under Armored Core V, so some time will have passed between entries. The mech-action series has seen more success in the East than in the West, but thanks to arcades and ports to international shores, it managed to amass quite a following.
The survey also provided a synopsis of the game, which reads:
“The game is a TPS (third person shooter) mecha action title that lets you move around an overwhelmingly scaled map that represents a unique sci-fi world with dynamic mech action. You will face strong enemies and fierce battles both long and short range using guns and blades.”
From Software might be more well-known for their dark fantasy RPGs like Dark Souls, Bloodborne and the upcoming Elden Ring, but they do have a history developing in the Armored Core franchise. With Miyazaki at the helm, this might be a more ambitious project than any previous entry in the series.
Additionally, the ResetEra leaker was able to provide a summary of the footage they had seen as part of the survey, describing:
“The boss fight looked quite Soulsy – the long range gunfire reminded me of Virtua On, that’s my frame of reference, I’m not a mech fan and haven’t played any AC games. The player character in a white mech went in close to the bigger robot boss and fought with like an energy or laser sword, this looked Souls-style.
They added: “The field gameplay, the player in the same white mech seemed to be following a couple of other players in the distance (co-op?) and they were walking (flying close to the ground maybe) through a snowy area towards either a large wall or gate, this seemed Soulsy too, the vastness of the architecture, but it wasn’t a castle more like a worn down metal/stone wall or gate. It was quite short.”
Meanwhile, From Software a gearing up to release their next open-world action-RPG Elden Ring, which releases on 25 February 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
