While FromSoftware are hard at work on the highly anticipated Elden Ring, rumours claim the studio has a PS5 exclusive game in the development too. The latest news comes from a reliable industry insider by the name of Nick Baker. Baker has been correct on several leaked reports in the past, so this one might just be the same.
During the latest XboxEra Podcast, Baker spilt the beans on this possible FromSoftware PS5 exclusive. He says that Bloodborne and Dark Souls fans might be disappointed to hear that the PS5 exclusive is not a sequel to any of those games. While rumours of a Bloodborne sequel have been swirling for some time already, the current project is actually an entirely new IP.

With that being said, Baker does claim that whatever the game is, it will be similar to other “Soulslike” titles from the developer. He says the PS5 game will follow the same traditional gameplay elements as Dark Souls and Bloodborne and won’t be as “out there” as Elden Ring.
Keep in mind that this is still a rumour for now so take it with a pinch of salt. However, at the same time, you should be excited. Over the past few months, we have heard about multiple projects going on at FromSoftware in regards to a PS5 exclusive game. Sony and FromSoftware have always had a strong relationship and the success of Bloodborne helped with this.
It makes sense that Sony and the Dark Souls creators would work on something new for the PS5. While we can’t confirm that the game is not Bloodborne, past rumours have all pointed to a sequel alongside a PS5 port of the original in the works.
It is still too early to tell what the plans are for the PS5 FromSoftware game but exciting news nonetheless.
