While FromSoftware is hard at work getting Elden Ring done in time for its release on 21 January 2022, the studio is apparently working on a PS5 exclusive game too. A new rumour mill claims that this PS5 exclusive is actually a successor to Bloodborne called Velvet Veil and has been in development for some time already.
While it is still unconfirmed, the source is the same person who previously leaked Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and multiple other unannounced projects that became a reality. He is quite reliable, to say the least. However, you should still take this with a pinch of salt.

Little is known about the Bloodborne successor Velvet Veil at the moment but it is not the first time we have heard about it. in 2018, Sony acquired a 1.9 percent stake in Kodakawa, the parent company of FromSoftware. According to previous rumours, the deal was put in place in order to help with the creation and development of an existing PlayStation exclusive IP.
Reports claim that Bloodborne 2, or Velvet Veil development began back in 2018 with a release window of 2023. Given that Elden Ring is set to launch in 2022, this makes sense. FromSoftware is apparently set to announce the game in mid-2022 ahead of its early 2023 release.
Another previous rumour claimed that Sony had 18 unannounced PS5 exclusive games in development. Of which, Bloodborne 2 was part of this list. If this is correct, Velvet Veil is indeed coming our way and it will act as the sequel to the original game.
Like all rumours, take this with a pinch of salt. A huge heap actually. While it is not the first time we have heard about the game, you should always proceed with caution when it comes to this sort of news.
