Mortal Kombat 1 Revealed Trailer Release Date September

Future Mortal Kombat 1 DLC and Story Expansion Cancelled Amid Poor Sales

NetherRealm seemingly won’t release another DLC for Mortal Kombat 1 after the upcoming Kombat Pack 2 wraps up. According to a new report, Warner Bros. Games has pulled the plug on the game’s post-launch development following poor sales of the fighting game.

The report suggests that Mortal Kombat 1 had plans for a Kombat Pack 3 and a story expansion. However, those plans have been cancelled. This comes after the latest expansion, Khaos Reigns sold poorly. Not to mention the initial game sales for Mortal Kombat 1 didn’t meet WB Games’ expectations either.

While the news of the cancelled DLC is bad for some, there are new characters still expected to come from the latest DLC pack. Kombat Pack 2 will still get Conan the Barbarian and T-1000 from Terminator 2. The report claims that even though future DLC has been cancelled, some cameos might make it to the game given that work was already underway on these new fighters.
