“Insert cheesy Winter is Coming quote here”. Game of Thrones fans rejoice. We have been waiting for what seems like forever for the last season of Game of Thrones and while we all don’t want it to end, it has to and now we know when it finally will. HBO has been teasing us with an “Early 2019” placeholder for the final season’s premiere but that all changes today.

HBO confirmed via Twitter that the final season will no air in April 2019. The studio tweeted a teaser with the hashtag #ForTheThrone. The thirty-second throwback clip took us back to the show’s past in a flashy sequence with the reveal of the final season planned to air in April 2019.

Game of Thrones season eight will include six -movie-length episodes and of course you can expect all the action the series has been known for. One specific episode we all cannot wait to see is the war against the Army of the Dead. According to HBO, that battle alone took 55 days to film. It spanned across 11 weeks and three locations and we will never see anything like it again.

There is surely a lot of hype around the show and the final season will be a historical moment as all the plot lines finally tie up. Who will make it and who will die? Guess the wait begins now for April 2019.
