A video game set in the universe of The Batman movie saga from director Matt Reeves is reportedly in the works. The Batman released in 2022 and starred Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/the dark knight alongside Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler and Colin Farrell as The Penguin.
As reported by Puck, Warner Bros. Discovery is apparently working on a video game set within The Batman universe. The article didn’t offer any details about the developer or what type of game it will be, though. We just know that the company has plans to expand into the video game market by developing a game based around The Batman. With the sequel already in development, it makes sense to capitalise on the trend.
The synopsis for The Batman reads:
“Two years of nights have turned Bruce Wayne into a nocturnal animal. But as he continues to find his way as Gotham’s dark knight Bruce is forced into a game of cat and mouse with his biggest threat so far, a manic killer known as The Riddler who is filled with rage and determined to expose the corrupt system whilst picking off all of Gotham’s key political figures. Working with both established and new allies, Bruce must track down the killer and see him brought to justice, while investigating his father’s true legacy and questioning the effect that he has had on Gotham so far as The Batman.”
In related news, Warner Bros. is already working on a new Batman: Arkham game titled Batman: Arkham Shadow. It will be a Meta Quest 3 VR exclusive and take place in the same universe as Rocksteady’s Arkham games. The gameplay details so far put an emphasis on melee and stealth combat as well investigations, allowing you to explore crimes and take down foes from Batman’s point of view.
