Geoff Keighley is set host another Gamescom Opening Night Live event this year, an annual event that brings several new reveals, updates on upcoming games and more. It also kicks off the Gamescom expo in Germany every year featuring plenty of publishers and developers showcasing their latest games on the show floor. Here’s a breakdown of when and where you can watch Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023 as well as what to expect from the event.
Before we proceed, Keighley has already set the expectations for this year’s show. According to the host in a recent interview with VGC, this year’s Opening Night Live will be “less about announcing new projects” and more about providing updates on games expected to release over the course of the next 12 months. That means fans shouldn’t expect too many big reveals, if at all, during the show this year unlike previous years.

When to Watch Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023
Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023 will take place on 22 August (tomorrow) at 11AM PT or 8PM SAST for South Africans, which means it thankfully won’t be a late show to catch (and as long as loadshedding doesn’t interfere). Kyle Bosman will host a 30-minute pre-show before the event so technically will start half an hour earlier if you really want to see everything revealed.
