Borderlands 3 has been out for just over a month now the game is a fantastic shooter. You can check out our full review on it here if you have yet to pick it up. It seems Gearbox Software and Take-Two Interactive did not waste time getting to the in-game purchase shenanigans as the first range of Borderlands 3 cosmetic DLC have gone live.

Granted, the DLC was only included in the Deluxe and Super Deluxe editions of the game at first but if you did not purchase those, then you can grab these for a premium price tag. The new Borderlands 3 DLC packs range from the Retro Cosmetic Pack, the Toy Box Weapon Pack that actually includes weapons and not just skins; the Neon pack; Gearbox pack; and the Gold Weapons Skins.

The packs all sell for the listed price of R89,00 which means you can now buy weapons in-game for just under R100. Keep in mind that this is most likely the beginning of a massive rollout of cosmetic items for the game which will only be available for purchase with real money. Not to mention, the Toy Box Weapon Pack is the first Borderlands 3 DLC to not be cosmetic and contain weapons (pay-to-win much?).

Borderlands 2 suffered from the same issue with countless “heads” available for purchase. At least then, these packs came in the form of a Head Hunter DLC which included a few side missions set in cool new areas making the purchase worth a little more than just a pay-to-win gun and new head for your character.

Gearbox Software and Take-Two will no doubt start rolling out more of these Borderlands 3 cosmetic DLC packs in the weeks ahead. The game is set to get its Halloween event soon so we won’t be surprised if the cosmetics you can obtain during the event go up for sale soon after that too.
