With E3 taking place from 11 to 14 June, we will probably see a lot more about Gears of War 5 in less than a month. It goes without saying at this point that the Xbox One needs some hard-hitting exclusives and with Sony not attending E3 this year, it would be the perfect time for Microsoft to drop some big trailers, gameplay showcases and release dates. That’s why, in part, this new rumour about the Gears 5 release date could be believable.

The Gears 5 release date is 10 September 2019 according to this rumour. The rumour comes from the Taiwanese age rating board, as found by Generación Xbox, accompanied by what is supposedly the game’s box art. Keep in mind that as always, you should take a rumour such as this one with a large helping of salt.
With that out of the way, the box art you can check out below seems to feature Kait Diaz as the main character judging by her position on the box art. Kait first appeared in Gears of War 4. Then, you also have Delmont Walker, J.D. Fenix and of course, old Marcus, as well as a character I am not quite sure about, with some reports pointing towards it being the Locust Queen Myrrah.
It could just be some kind of mistake, as the Taiwanese rating board could have accidentally just used a piece of fan art. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Gears 5 release date is somewhere around September anyway. We will probably know for sure when E3 comes around next month, so at least we won’t have to wait long.
