After a few leaks about the Gears 5 release date ahead of E3, Microsoft officially revealed the release date as 10 September 2019 during their E3 Press Conference and revealed the Gears 5 release date and showed off a bloody, brutal and action-packed trailer for the Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive.

Gears 5 features a new main protagonist, Kait Diaz (voiced by Laura Bailey), but series veterans such as Marcus Fenix, Delmont Walker and more will also make an appearance on a quest to find the origin of the Locusts. The game looks as frantic as you can expect with some crazy melee gibs thrown in for good measure.

Developer The Coalition is throwing everything fans of the Gears of War franchise loves right in their faces and it is clear from the Gears 5 trailer that the game will be a step up. I, for one, am excited to see how it plays on the Xbox One X or a high-end gaming PC, as Gears 5 will, of course, come to Windows 10 PCs as well.

Alongside the Gears 5 release date, the developer also announced and showcased a new game mode called “Escape“, an aggressive 3 player co-op experience.
