Developer The Coalition has officially announced Gears 6 or as it’s titled, Gears of War: E-Day at the Xbox Games Showcase. The reveal trailer shows in-engine footage built in Unreal Engine 5 with some fantastic visuals teased with its cinematics for this prequel. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any gameplay shown or a release date but at least we know it’s in the works.
Gears of War: E-Day looks a bit darker than previous entries in the series, at least going by the tone of the reveal trailer. There’s a lot to digest and speculate about with the story of the game but it’s confirmed that it will be a prequel that follows Marcus Fenix as he experiences the Locust invasion on Emergence Day. For now, we’ll just have to wait a bit longer until we can get our hands on the game or at least look forward to the next trailer.
