Genshin Impact is an Open World Free-to-Play RPG Now Available on PS4, iOS and Android

Genshin Impact is now live and available to download on PS4, iOS and Android. The game, developed by miHoYo, is an open-world free-to-play RPG that features a co-op and single-player gameplay.

Genshin Impact is set in the world called Teyvat where players take on the role of characters who are able to control certain elements thanks to magical gemstones. Players choose between a male and female lead character at first. However, their party of characters change as the game progresses. Each playable character is unique, wields their own weapon and controls their own element.

Genshin Impact features an open world map which looks like something right out of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Players can go anywhere, climb anything and swim and glide through the environment as they see fit. The world holds treasures to uncover and secrets to find which unlock loot, ingredients for recipes and even currency to purchase items.

Each player can control up to four heroes at any given time and can swap around them during combat and exploration. There are 24 playable heroes to collect at launch which are available through grinding for currency to pay for a “wish” or by using real money to buy these wish packs. Each hero revolves around one of seven natural elements including Cryo, Dendro, Pyro, Hydro, Anemo, Electro and Geo. These change the gameplay as you swap between them all.

Genshin Impact is out now on PS4, iOS and Android. The game features cross-play so users on mobile can play with users on PS4. However, cross-save support is not available at launch so make sure you stick to a platform. The game weighs in at 10GB on PS4 and 4.1GB on mobile. You can head to the PlayStation Store, App Store or Google Play Store to start your download.
