Ghost of Tsushima 2 Reportedly Being Announced This Year

Earlier this week, rumours surfaced about Ghost of Tsushima, the 2020 open world action game from Sucker Punch Productions, finally getting a PC port announcement this week. Now there’s a new rumour claiming that the long-awaited sequel, Ghost of Tsushima 2, will be announced this year at a potential PlayStation showcase set for May or June.

The leak originates from a Twitter/X user named Haothors who, according to Reddit, leaked the PC specifications blog post for Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition ahead of its confirmation by Sony. The leaker claims that Ghost of Tsushima 2 will be revealed at a PlayStation showcase sometime in May/June, which makes sense if Sony’s plan is to launch the title on PC first to build up anticipation for its sequel announcement shortly after.

However, some doubt about the leaker’s credibility was thrown around the commenters who noted that Haothors didn’t have a particularly great track record of leaks, marking their PC announcements claims down to lucky guesswork. It’s been a few years since the release of the original game so the timing of a sequel reveal might also be a lucky guess if it is really announced this summer.

After the Reddit thread gained traction, the leaker quickly deleted their Twitter/X post mentioning the sequel, so we strongly recommend taking this information with a grain of salt.

That said, there are previous rumours that suggest Ghost of Tsushima 2 is already in development and has been for a few years. Back in 2022, Sucker Punch Productions said that it was winding down updates on the first game. A couple of months later, new job listings popped up at the studio seemingly hiring for a potential sequel to the action game. Given Sucker Punch’s radio silence over the last few years, we can only assume the developer had its head down while it quietly worked on the sequel.
