Sony has announced that Ghost of Tsushima is now the fastest-selling first-party original PS4 game. The news comes from Sony Interactive Entertainment World Worldwise Studios boss Herman Hulst. Keep in mind that when the say “original” they mean not belonging to an existing IP.

Sony says that Ghost of Tsushima has sold more than 5 million copies since its launch back in July. The game no doubt saw a boost in sales in the recent weeks after Sucker Punch released the free co-op DLC called Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. The DLC brought with it team-based co-op multiplayer in addition to a range of single-player content including New Game+.

Sony may manage to sell even more copies of the game in the coming months thanks to the PS5 launch. Ghost of Tsushima is one of the first-party games which benefits from the console’s Game Boost feature. According to Sucker Punch, the game runs at 60FPS on the PS5.
