A Ghost of Tsushima artbook has revealed new information about the upcoming co-op DLC called “Legends“. Sucker Punch announced a free content update arriving soon for the game which adds a whole RPG fantasy multiplayer mode. While we don’t know the release date yet, the new artbook shared some interesting information on the story and boss fights. There’s even an early look at the game’s multiplayer menu.

The artbook includes an entire chapter dedicated to the Ghost of Tsushima: Legends DLC content. According to the description, the content revolves around a storyteller who claims to be all-seeing and all-knowing. By the sound of things, this storytelling is the quest giver. He tells the story to the players and they relive them. This includes boss battles, exploration and possible sieges.
The artbook explains the landscapes as a “stark contrast” to those in the main game.
[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”#FF8912″ class=”” size=”21″]Rather than capturing natural beauty and an authentic glimpse of feudal Japan, these landscapes have a more dream-like quality. Elements like the lanterns and torii games are inspired by Japanese imagery, and many of these areas are meant to feel like ancient Japanese woodblock prints brought to life.”[/perfectpullquote]
New enemy types and bosses fill the pages of the book too. These are clearly inspired by Japanese mythology. One boss also seems to have multiple phases which starts off as a human-like form with a porcelain mask. It then transforms into a terrifying creature with long arms covered in Japanese silk.
Lastly, we have menus. While they are still early concept art, it seems the Ghost of Tsushima: Legends DLC might include challenges for players to take on during their gaming session. Players can also change equipment and modify their appearance in-game too. The other menu page then shows off the gameplay lobby with four players dressed up and ready to take on a mission called “Twin Hearts”. By the look of things, this mission also has a level requirement. Two of the players are under level, one close indicated by the green and the other is higher. Surely gear and progression determines the level of your character.
If this artbook tells us anything, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends DLC is shaping up to be quite an experience. The environments and enemies alone make it something worth returning to.
