By now you know Ghost of Tsushima, one of Sony’s biggest and most successful open-world RPGs. The game released back in 2020 in the middle of a pandemic and served as an escape for many people during lockdown. It has gone down as one of the most completed single-player games of the last generation and now players will be able to watch the story thanks to a new Ghost of Tsushima movie currently in the works at PlayStation Productions.
Nate Fox, game director at Sucker Punch Productions announced the news on the PlayStation Blog. According to Nate, the film is currently in production at Sony Pictures and is directed by Chad Stahelski, the same guy who directed the John Wick series.
Little is know about the film at this point but Nate says that he could not imagine anyone else able to bring Jin to life in a Ghost of Tsushima movie like Chad. We don’t know whether or not the film will act as a sequel to the current game or if the movie might just be a direct video game adaption of the original game’s story.
In addition to the news of the Ghost of Tsushima movie, Sucker Punch announced some impressive sales numbers. Ghost of Tsushima has sold more than 6.5 million copies. In addition, half of the players who own the game have finished it which is impressive for a game of that size.
