Ghost of Tsushima movie director Chad Stahelski has shared an update on the progress of the live-action outing. Stahelski has confirmed that a script is done but the team is just waiting for the business side of things to fall into place before they’re allowed to proceed.
Speaking to Total Film recently, Stahelski confirmed that a script was done for the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima movie. However, it’s just a matter of waiting for the green light as “everybody is trying to tighten up the deal to get everything going” at the moment. PlayStation Productions originally announced its plans to make a live-action Ghost of Tsushima movie back in 2021, but progress has been slow since then with no release date in sight.

Stahelski’s update on the movie’s progress reads:
“We have a really great script. We have a really good creative team behind it. It’s just about getting all the business end of things locked in. It’s kind of in that little bit of flux where everybody is trying to tighten up the deal to get everything going, and to make sure we do the best with it.”
The director, best known for directing the John Wick movies, was recently confirmed to helm a live-action Rainbow Six movie starring Michael B. Jordan. At this point, it’s unclear which of his projects will actually begin filming first so it’s possible that we might see the Ghost of Tsushima movie at a much later stage.
Ghost of Tsushima released on PS4 in 2020 to critical and commercial success, praised for its stunning visuals and art direction, tight combat and open-world exploration. Developer Sucker Punch Productions is rumoured to be working on a sequel, though we’ll likely see that at a later stage as well.
