Ghost of Yotei Release Month Leaked Sucker Punch

Ghost of Yotei Release Month Potentially Leaked

Ever since Ghost of Yotei, the follow-up to 2020’s Ghost of Tsushima, was announced last year, PlayStation has been quiet regarding any news or potential release dates. Recently, developer Sucker Punch Productions revealed that the game was still on track to launch sometime in 2025, suggesting that the game could be shown in a greater capacity soon. A new rumour has now pinned a potential release month on the PS5 exclusive.

According to two sources close to Detective Seeds, Ghost of Yotei will release sometime between mid to late July this year. That’s at least according to one of those sources who has more spot-on info than the other. With July fast approaching, fans suspect that we’ll either get a PlayStation State of Play dedicated entirely to Ghost of Yotei or we might see a deep dive into the game at an upcoming showcase.

Among other features that Sucker Punch Productions plans to introduce in the sequel, the studio also confirmed that Ghost of Yotei will have a less repetitive open-world, seemingly addressing some of the criticisms aimed at Ghost of Tsushima. One way this can be accomplished is to introduce more varied world events and side quests that don’t require players to perform the same objectives multiple times, which could’ve been the subject of the first game’s repetitiveness.

The official description for Ghost of Yotei reads:

“In 1603, Atsu sets out on a journey in the lands surrounding Mount Yōtei, an area filled with sprawling grasslands, snowy tundras, and unexpected dangers. 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, a new warrior – Atsu – rises from the ashes of her homestead. Filled with fury and determination, Atsu will hunt down those responsible for the death of her family and exact her revenge. Every odd job and bounty will provide the coin she needs for her journey. But how she fights, survives, and evolves the legend of the Ghost, will be up to you.”

Ghost of Yotei launches sometime in 2025 for PS5.
