Goat Simulator Remastered has been leaked for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via a recent rating in Taiwan. Not much else is known about the remaster as it hasn’t officially been announced yet, though it seems to be an updated version of the original cult classic parody game that launched on last generation consoles.
As reported by Gematsu, a new listing on the Taiwanese rating board was spotted for Goat Simulator Remastered, coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The listing doesn’t offer any other information such as a release date but it seems legitimate. The franchise consists of three entries so far including several expansions and add-ons, though the first game in the series remains the most recognisable after finding success with various viral YouTube playthroughs in 2014.
Developer Mad Dog Games released Goat Simulator 3 in November 2022, featuring a four-player co-op mode for the first time in the franchise as well as competitive PvP minigames. Players could also customise and reinforce their own hub called Goat Castle.
By comparison, the first Goat Simulator mainly focused on the absurdity of its premise and references to other games, pop culture and light social commentary. The “goat” that players controlled seemingly defied the laws of physics and was intentionally difficult to control, creating hijinks and insane situations for human NPCs in its sandbox world. Despite the short-lived nature of the game, it latched onto gamers and became a hit worldwide.
The description of Goat Simulator sheds some light on the gameplay and your “objectives”:
“Gameplay-wise, Goat Simulator is all about causing as much destruction as you possibly can as a goat. It has been compared to an old-school skating game, except instead of being a skater, you’re a goat, and instead of doing tricks, you wreck stuff. Destroy things with style, such as doing a backflip while headbutting a bucket through a window, and you’ll earn even more points! Or you could just give Steam Workshop a spin and create your own goats, levels, missions, and more! When it comes to goats, not even the sky is the limit, as you can probably just bug through it and crash the game.”
