A new God of War PC mod is making the rounds online that pits Kratos against Halo protagonist Master Chief. The mod was created by Marcos RC, who recently posted a video showing the first fight in 2018’s God of War, only Baldur has been reskinned with Master Chief. The results are pretty epic.
Fans have been debating who would win in a fight between these two titans of opposing consoles for years now. While the outcome is fairly predictable if you’ve already played God of War, there’s just enough of an impressive beatdown here to give you an idea of how an elite Spartan soldier would fare against the vengeful god-slaying Spartan himself.
Naturally, Master Chief doesn’t use any of his iconic weapons as the fight was simply lifted from the 2018 game. Instead, we get some brutal hand-to-hand combat. However, it begs the question if Master Chief did have his usual arsenal at his disposal, which way would the scales tip?
The same can be said about Kratos who doesn’t use his Leviathan Axe or Blades of Chaos in the cutscene. Given that Kratos has already had his share of slaying everything from titans to the entire Greek pantheon of gods (and soon, presumably Norse gods), it’s admirable to think that Master Chief would still put up a challenging fight.
In related news, Kratos and his son Atreus will return in God of War Ragnarok, which is scheduled to launch on PS4 and PS5 sometime in 2022. A recent leak may have given us a September release date to look forward to as well. Halo Infinite, on the other hand, released its single-player campaign last year and developer 343 Industries continues to support the game’s standalone free-to-play multiplayer.
