Developers, especially under PlayStation Studios, have gone to great lengths to implement great accessibility features. Most recently, Naughty Dog included some fantastic accessibility options for The Last of Us Part I as well as Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Forbidden West and Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima, among others. God of War Ragnarok is no exception, coming with a terrific amount of options for players.

Some examples of these features in God of War Ragnarok include auto-sprinting, easy-to-activate skill shots, direction indicators in combat and auto-platforming and pick-ups.

PlayStation and Santa Monica Studio tested these accessibility options with a number of consultants and testers, including blind players. The goal was to focus on motor skills, hearing, vision and cognitive understanding.

God of War Ragnarok‘s lead UX designer, Mila Pavlin, stated:

“Accessibility features are not just accessibility features. They also help to improve the experience for everyone. Ragnarök is about moving into the next phase. For us, that meant including more people, making sure that people can customize more, and making sure that it’s a comfortable play experience for everybody.”

God of War Ragnarok launches on 9 November 2022 for PS4 and PS5. Read more about the game’s combat details right here.
