God of War Ragnarok Preload Date Revealed for PS4 and PS5

God of War Ragnarok, the highly anticipated concluding chapter in PlayStation and Santa Monica Studio’s Norse saga, is just over a month away from release. So far, PlayStation has delivered plenty of great marketing in the form of exciting trailers and even an odd Rick and Morty collaboration. For the patient players, you’ll be able to preload the game on PS4 and PS5 starting on 2 November 2022 which is just a week before its launch.

As spotted by Twitter user Joe Miller, the preload date for God of War Ragnarok appears to be 2 November. This is likely the same date for review embargos, as Sony has opened pre-downloads alongside review embargos in the past. Make sure you clear up some space as well if you’re planning to play Ragnarok on PS4 since the file size is apparently a whopping 90.6GB.

God of War Ragnarok will continue and conclude the story of Kratos and Atreus as they journey through Midgard and the various Norse realms. This time, we’re finally encountering some of the most powerful beings in the mythos, including Thor, Odin and plenty of surprises that Santa Monica Studio might be cooking up for fans.

PlayStation provides an official description of the game:

“From Santa Monica Studio comes the sequel to the critically acclaimed God of War (2018). Fimbulwinter is well underway. Kratos and Atreus must journey to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as Asgardian forces prepare for a prophesied battle that will end the world. Along the way they will explore stunning, mythical landscapes, and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters. The threat of Ragnarök grows ever closer. Kratos and Atreus must choose between their own safety and the safety of the realms.”

God of War Ragnarok launches on 9 November 2022 for PS4 and PS5.
