Will God of War Ragnarok come to PS4? That is the question many gamers have been asking since its announcement back in September. Many believe that due to Sony releasing other PS5 games such as Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and even Horizon: Forbidden West on the old console, the God of War sequel may also arrive on the platform. However, it seems we won’t know the answer to that question any time soon.

In an interview with Telegraph, PlayStation boss Jim Ryan was outright asked whether or not God of War Ragnarok would be a PS5 exclusive. Jim quickly shut down the question by replying

Usually, these sort of questions are dodged with a little tact. However, Jim seems to want nothing of it and immediately replied with the answer all journalists hate to hear. However, it does not mean God of War Ragnarok is not coming to PS4. It also does not mean it is. It means he cannot confirm anything yet.
So what do we think? We reckon you get a PS5 as soon as possible if you want to play God of War Ragnarok because there’s a high chance the game may skip PS4 consoles. If Santa Monica Studios wants to push the game’s features and visuals beyond the already-fantastic 2018 release then the PS5 is the platform to do it on. Unfortunately, gaming does move on and with that, hardware gets left behind. There’s a reason Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart is not coming to PS4. The game has been built for the power of the PS5 and the SSD. God of War Ragnarok could also be the case.
