aSanta Monica Studios could be deep in production with the new God of War sequel according to Kim Newman who posted a picture on Twitter in a full motion-capture suit tagging the studio. The rumoured sequel has made headlines a couple of times in the past few months after a job listing went live to recruit a senior combat animator with “knowledge of God of War.”

We then have the second job opening for a “Facial Blend Shape Character Artist” that also required knowledge of “next-gen”. Right now, the God of War sequel is all but confirmed as previous leaks no doubt point to the game’s existence and a possible PS5 release.

With Sony hosting the PS5 console reveal next month, could the sequel make its debut at the show? Who knows but the idea surely has us excited.
All the job listings and industry chatter seem to point to the God of War sequel being well into development. Santa Monica Studios then released a free PS4 theme that contained a hidden code translated to “Ragnarok is coming” which could mean the sequel will go in the direction of the Norse apocalypse.
Even if Sony does show the game off next month during the PS5 reveal, we don’t think the sequel is close to launching any time soon. However, just seeing it would make fans of the series happy.
