God of War was released for PC last week and thanks to modders (and some very expensive gaming hardware), the game has never looked better. The game already features some fantastic PC-only features such as improved graphics effects, Ground Truth Ambient Occlusion, Screen Space Directional Occlusion effects, and higher detail assets. However, one thing God of War doesn’t have is ray tracing support… Until now.
A new God of War mod called Screen Space Ray Tracing Shader developed by Pascal Gilcher makes this possible. YouTube channel Digital Dreams used this mod alongside others to push God of War to a whole new level of visual fidelity. The result is an impressive showcase of the game that makes one of the best-looking games even better on the eyes.

The setup is available to all users online. However, you’ll need to subscribe to Digital Dreams’ Patreon page in order to download the preset. You’ll then need to get Pascal Glicher’s Screen Space Ray Tracing Shader here. It is also locked behind a Patreon page.
Take a look at the video below and see for yourself if the difference is worth subscribing to the Patreon page.
