God of War PC System Requirements PlayStation Store Christmas Sale Sony PS4 deals

God of War TV Series in The Works at Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video is potentially in the running to kick off the production of a God of War TV series very soon. According to Deadline, Prime has now entered talks with PlayStation Productions to sign and develop a live-action series of one of Sony’s biggest video game series.

According to the report, The Expanse creators and executive producers Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby will join forces with The Wheel of Time producer Rafe Judkins on the adaption.

If Amazon Prime Video and PlayStation Productions manage to sign a deal, the God of War TV series will join the likes of The Last of Us and Twisted Metal as Sony’s latest franchise to evolve into a TV series. Let’s not forget that PlayStation Productions just released the Uncharted movie and is also working on a Ghost of Tsushima film too.

Sony is clearly open to signing deals with a handful of streaming platforms in order to create these shows. The Last of Us is headed to HBO, Twisted Metal was picked up by Peacock and now the God of War TV series might be greenlit at Amazon Prime Video.

Amazon Prime Video is currently working on other video game adaptions including a Fallout TV series and a Mass Effect show. While details are scarce on this God of War TV series at the moment, we can only hope that if the show gets the go-ahead, they pump enough budget into the production to wow fans.

The God of War TV series will most likely star long-running protagonist Kratos. However, we don’t know where Amazon plans to kick the show off. Would it act as a bridge between God of War 3 and the 2018 reboot? Perhaps it will tell an original story set in a whole new realm? Regardless, the thought of this coming to life is pretty exciting.
