God of War voice actor known for his incredible voice work for Kratos, Christopher Judge has been cast to voice the upcoming Black Panther content in Marvel’s Avengers. Judge says that while he will never replace the iconic Chadwick Boseman, he is excited to take on the opportunity and voice the well-known Black Panther character.
Judge is set to voice King T’Challa in the upcoming Wakanda expansion for Marvel’s Avengers. The free expansion is set to launch in August. However, according to Entertainment, Christopher Judge actually turned down the role when he initially was asked to take it on.

Judge says that his family threatened to disown him if he never signed the deal:
I turned it down straight away. There’s many Black Panthers, but I really didn’t believe that anyone should ever do T’Challa again [after Boseman]. The actual talks proceeded and, basically, I wound up doing it because my mother and my children said if I didn’t do it, they would disown me.”
To be quite honest, I was fearful of being compared to what Chadwick had so wonderfully done. The only way I could really wrap my head around it was to not even attempt a voice match, to let my performance stand on its own. I put all that into it and hopefully people like it.”
Judge also says that players are in for a treat when they play the Marvel’s Avengers Black Panther expansion next month. He says that even if you know everything about the comics and can quote the movie by heart, there are still going to be some surprises.
We know that Hannah MacLeod, the game’s DLC narrative lead has worked hard on an original story for the expansion. The expansion kicks off five years after the events of the main game but at the same time touches on a range of story elements that tie into events before and during the content.
Judge’s version of Black Panther is also a bit different from what we know. He says that the King is older and a bit wiser now. Unlike the Avengers movies where T’Challa just became king, he has been doing this for a long time now. He almost has a completely different personality compared to the original character from the movies.
