At The Game Awards 2019, the first official game announcement for the PS5 was made and it comes from Gearbox publishing and developer Counterplay Games. Godfall is described as a fantasy “looter-slasher” that will release in Holiday 2020, just like Sony’s next-gen console, the PS5.
Godfall is basically a fantasy ARPG with third-person melee combat, that you will be able to play on PS5 or PC in Holiday 2020, either solo or with up to two other players. There will be a tonne of loot, legendary armour sets, some scary-looking enemies and bosses to face, which will all drop that sweet loot.
Gearbox explains that the third-person melee combat in Godfall is fluid, dynamic and interactive, embracing both offensive and defensive abilities. Most of all, however, it is great to finally get a glimpse of a game officially confirmed for the PS5, which you can do by checking out the announcement trailer at the bottom of this article.
Gearbox and Counterplay Games explains the game on the PlayStation Blog.
