Godfall is releasing later this year for PS5 and PC. The upcoming looter-slasher aims to redefine the genre by combining fast-paced action with a deep loot system and intense combat. If anything, it sounds and looks pretty great and could be one of the first next-gen games you will experience on your fancy new PS5. In a new interview with YouTuber Arekkz, Counterplay Games shared details on the Godfall microtransactions or lack thereof.

According to Technical Producer Richard Heyne, Godfall will not have any microtransactions. Counterplay Games claims they don’t want to turn Godfall into a games-as-a-service title. In addition, the entire story campaign can be played solo or in co-op without the need to ever spend another dime after purchase.
Richard claims Godfall will feature plenty of loot. Players collect loot as they experience the dungeon crawler. In addition, Godfall features a deep end-game system and promises plenty of content for those looking for tough challenges and the best loot to collect.
In the interview, Richard shared a new Vaporplate (class) called the Hinterclaw. This class centres around the ability to perform critical strikes. In short, the class is a DPS one. The Hinterclaw also features a unique feline design inspired by Egyptian mythology.
The game is without a release date but Counterplay Games is aiming for a holiday 2020 launch. We know Godfall will make use of the PS5 DualSense controller in some cool ways. You can catch up on the full interview down below.
