The Ultimate Game of All Time award is particularly interesting as it awards that prestigious title to a game that made an enormous impact over the last 50 years in gaming. There’s no denying the impact of Dark Souls, though its competing nominees included heavy-hitters like the original Doom, Half-Life 2, Halo: Combat Evolved, Metal Gear Solid and The Last of Us. Needless to say, it was quite stiff competition.

Resident Evil Village is also nominated for Game of the Year at the upcoming Game Awards, which takes place next month.
