Google is giving the Android logo a glow-up. The company unveiled a new version of the iconic green Android bot as well as some refined font used in the official Android naming.
First off, the Android name is getting a capital “A”. The branding will now get rid of the lowercase ‘a’. The ‘n’ and ‘r’ are also now rounded. If anything, this look goes back to the 2008 and 2014 branding with the added capital “A”.

As for the green bot, Google has given the character a 3-dimensional design. But instead of focusing on the entire bot, just its upper head will appear in most of the branding. The 3-dimensional design is brought to life thanks to its varied green shading and soft light on the top of its head. It makes the logo appear in 3D.
In a statement to 9to5 Google, the company says it is slowly transitioning to the new branding. Google already started showing off this new design earlier this year. Both its CES 2023 and I/O 2023 appearances featured subtle hints at the rebrand.
Google has yet to officially announce the complete design overhaul but it confirmed that users will start to see the changes around various marketing campaigns.
We’re showcasing some elements of our new brand identity on various surfaces, including our CES booth from earlier this year and other campaign materials like digital & banner ads. We’ll have more to share in the coming months.
