Gotham Knights Free 4-Player Co-Op Coming After Launch

Gotham Knights will release Heroic Assault, a 4-player co-op experience separate from the main game’s campaign, as a free update after launch. While the main story is limited to only two players in online co-op, this free mode will allow up to four players to fight in an arena-like environment where the objective is to defeat enemies and complete objectives.

Developer Warner Bros. Montreal places a bit of emphasis on co-op in Gotham Knights, which allows two players to tackle the main story together. Players can select any characters from the four available choices: Red Hood, Batgirl, Nightwing and Robin. Some fans were disappointed to find out that, despite having four playable characters, the main story was limited to only using two of them. That will change with Heroic Assault.

As Warner Bros. Games describes, Heroic Assault will allow up to four players in co-op to fight through an arena consisting of 30 floors in total. Details are still scarce on the objectives players will need to complete on each floor and challenge, but we’ll surely know more about it closer to its release.

Heroic Assault will arrive in Gotham Knights as a free update on 29 November 2022, a month after the game’s launch on consoles and PC.

As the game races towards it release later this week, some unfortunate news trickled online, including the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions being locked to 30FPS which has caused quite a stir in the community. A trophy list revealed last week may have accidentally spilled some spoilers. If that wasn’t bad enough, the game’s official artbook also listed a few major spoilers weeks before its release.

Gotham Knights launches on 21 October 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Heroic Assault will arrive as a free update to the game on 29 November.
