Gotham Knights Gameplay Nightwing Red Hood

Gotham Knights Russian Version Reportedly Cancelled

The Russian version of Gotham Knights has reportedly been cancelled by Warner Bros., as well as Russian language options for other regions. The decision supposedly comes as Warner Bros. is the latest gaming company to boycott the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Sources speaking to The Happy Warrior, Gotham Knights was meant to feature full Russian language support, including a Russian dub as well as Russian subtitles. However, Warner Bros. will no longer offer either of these and will pull the sale of the title from all Russian territories.

Players attempting to access the official Russian version of the Gotham Knights website will be met with a 404 error but you can still access the site through archive.org. Warner Bros. has yet to officially announce the decision, if it is indeed true, but all signs point to it being probable at this stage.

Recently, Warner Bros. also announced that Gotham Knights would no longer be coming to the PS4 and Xbox One, instead focusing on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. A statement from Warner Bros. regarding the decision read as follows:

“Please note, to provide players with the best possible gameplay experience, the game will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC and will not be available for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One consoles.”

It was speculated that Gotham Knights would feature full 4-player co-op for the entire game and despite a supposed confirmation, Warner Bros. Montreal officially debunked this and stated that the title will feature 2-player co-op only. The developer also confirmed that Gotham Knights will not feature microtransactions or have an always-online requirement and further stated that the title will not feature any in-game purchases, which is a breath of fresh air.

Gotham Knights will release on the 25th of October for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
