So what is this free game all about? Well, Freespace 2 is arguably one of the greatest space combat games ever created but it did release all the way back in 1999, yes, 20 years ago. Back in the day, the game boasted awesome graphics for that time, but it was the combat and massive battles, as well as the mission structure and story that really made Freespace 2 such an unforgettable classic.

Before we get to the game’s description and blocky trailer, you need to know that there are mods for Freespace 2 that make the game look a lot better.
