Nacon has announced Greedfall 2. For those who don’t know, Greedfall was originally released back in 2019 for PS4, Xbox One and PC before getting a PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrade last year. The game is an open-world RPG that is inspired by the likes of Mass Effect and Dragon Age. While the original had a few kinks, it did extremely well selling over a million copies within its first six months of launch and hitting two million to date. Nacon plans on expanding the series even further now with Greedfall 2 set to launch sometime next year.
According to Nacon, Greedfall 2 is a prequel to the original game set three years before the main story. Players will take on the role of a Teer Fradee native who has been uprooted from their island and taken hostage to the continent of Gacane.

The game will focus on the world during the original wars and the period when the Malichor plague took place. Like in the previous game, players will have to make game-altering decisions that affect the story and progression. While details are scarce at the moment, Nacon says Greedfall 2 will feature all the loved mechanics found in the original game including a deep party system, diplomacy and combat. Nacon claims Greedfall 2’s combat will be more tactical.

Nacon released a short teaser trailer for Greedfall 2 that shows off a bit of the game. No platforms and release dates have been announced yet.
