Greedfall 2 Gets Early Access Release Date

Greedfall 2: The Dying World has an early access release date. Developer Spiders says the game will launch on Steam on 24 September before launching on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S sometime in the future.

The game is a prequel of the 2019 RPG, Greedfall which went on to sell over 2 million copies at launch. Spiders announced it was working on a sequel in 2022. The game was originally set to launch the following year but was delayed. The studio announced earlier this year that Greedfall 2: The Dying World would come to early access first but now we have an official release date.

The trailer doesn’t really show us much besides more CG. There are also some accolades. Even the Steam page simply includes screenshots of the CG trailer. Spiders will likely showcase some sort of gameplay deep dive before the launch in September.

According to the Steam page, Greedfall 2 is set three years before the events of the first game. Players will explore the old continent and travel across new landscapes.

This time you play as a native of Teer Fradee, uprooted by force from your island and taken to the continent of Gacane, where the colonists are from. In this old world ravaged by war and scarred by the Malichor plague and the political scheming of the different factions, you need to regain your freedom and control of your own destiny. Using diplomacy, cunning or combat, as well as help from allies you make, it’s up to you to end one man’s ambitions of conquest, which could spell the end for the continent and your island.

Experience the unique world of GreedFall again by exploring the old continent! Travel across new landscapes, from Olima – the city of stars of the Bridge Alliance – to the shores of Uxantis, and uncover the secrets of these ancient lands. Meet all the factions that share control over these nations and navigate the treacherous waters of their schemes and conspiracies.

You can wishlist Greedfall 2 on the Steam page for now. Watch the trailer below.
