GTA 4 Port Reportedly Coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S Later This Year

A port of Grand Theft Auto 4 is reportedly coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S later this year. According to a new leak, it has been in development for about a year and it might be a similar situation to the first Red Dead Redemption port back in 2023. Rockstar Games has yet to make any official announcement, though the GTA 4 port would certainly keep eager fans busy until GTA 6 launches next year.

The leak originates from leaker Tez2 who claims that Rockstar Games is developing a port of GTA 4 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Since GTA 4 is already playable on Xbox via backwards compatibility with the Xbox 360 version, Rockstar might be able to pass this as a remaster instead of a simple port. Beyond that, we don’t have any more information to go on, though the leak states that it will be out before the end of the year.

GTA 4 originally launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 and followed the journey of Niko Bellic, an Eastern European ex-soldier making his way to Liberty City to chase the American dream. As things often go in GTA games, Niko has to build himself up from scratch in the criminal world, having to face the fact that pursuing the “American dream” was all a lie – and, in fact, a dream compared to the grim reality of Liberty City.

In related news, Rockstar Games recently debuted the second official trailer for GTA 6 along with a confirmation that the game had been delayed to 26 May 2026. This was done to give the team more time in development. The studio also revealed that the second trailer featured both cutscenes and gameplay. Since the game looks so astoundingly good, it’s pretty hard to tell where cutscenes end and gameplay begins or vice versa.

As with all rumours and reports, take this leak with a pinch of salt until we get some confirmation from publisher Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games.
