GTA 6 Confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S – PC Not Mentioned

If you’re just waking up this morning, you might’ve noticed the internet ablaze with the reveal trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6. After a massive leak of the trailer, developer Rockstar Games decided to upload it ahead of schedule, taking us back to the sandy Florida shores of Vice City. Some new information has now appeared that confirms we’ll be getting GTA 6 at launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, though no PC version is mentioned.

According to a Rockstar press release (per Video Games Chroncile), it appears that GTA 6 will launch on consoles first in 2025 with a PC release possibly scheduled for a later date, similar to GTA V which saw a PC launch a couple of years after its console release. GTA IV was also released on PC six months after it launched on consoles first, so Rockstar Games seems to be keeping up with the trend of delivering PC versions later down the line as opposed to launching the ports alongside consoles.

Grand Theft Auto 6 will take players back to the Miami-inspired location of Vice City and the reveal trailer doubles down on everything you’ve read in the news about the state, perhaps to an exaggerated degree like Rockstar’s games tend to parody. Alligators roam the streets, crime is abundant, street races frequently kick off, parties are happening everywhere and did we mention the amount of alligators?

Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences,” said co-founder of Rockstar Games, Sam Houser. “We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”

The internet has responded to the trailer with praise, particularly for the game’s striking visuals and emphasis on the duo of main characters, a Bonnie & Clyde type named Lucia and Jason.

GTA 6 is set to launch sometime in 2025 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
