GTA 6 Grand Theft Auto Take-Two Interactive 2024

GTA 6 Could Release as Soon as 2024 According to Take-Two

Despite being the subject of a historical leak last year, Grand Theft Auto 6 is still very high up on people’s most anticipated upcoming games lists. The long-awaited sequel to GTA V is still without a release date but according to a recent earnings report from publisher Take-Two Interactive, GTA 6 could be arriving as soon as 2024.

The earnings report from Take-Two dove into the tremendous sales of GTA V which managed to achieve an unprecedented 180 million copies sold since its launch in 2013. However, the report also mentions that Take-Two is projecting a massive $8 billion net bookings goal for fiscal year 2025, which will begin in April 2024 and last until March 2025. In comparison, most of Take-Two’s previous net bookings goals have hovered around $3 billion.

This begs the question why Take-Two is projecting such staggeringly high goals for its next fiscal year and most fans think this means GTA 6 will launch in that 2024 window. After all, the only reason anyone can think of for the high projections is because of an extremely high-profile AAA release and all signs point to the next Grand Theft Auto – which will be perfectly capable of hitting that target since it remains an incredibly anticipated release almost destined to sell in the millions at launch.

Unless Rockstar Games aims to set the world ablaze with Table Tennis 2, it’s a safe bet that GTA 6 could be launching sometime in 2024. The company elaborated on these projections in the earnings report, stating:

“Looking ahead, fiscal 2025 is a highly anticipated year for our company. For the last several years, we have been preparing our business to release an incredibly robust pipeline of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of success. In fiscal 2025, we expect to enter this new era by launching several groundbreaking titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry and enable us to achieve over $8 billion in net bookings and over $1 billion in adjusted unrestricted operating cash flow. We expect to sustain this momentum by delivering even higher levels of operating results in Fiscal 2026 and beyond.”

It’s worth noting that Take-Two doesn’t just mention one game but “several groundbreaking titles”, which is all up for theory-crafting and debate at this point. Keep in mind, this is all just speculation as the next fiscal year is still a large window and it’s entirely possible that GTA 6 could be pushed to the early 2025 bracket too.
